This very special OEC diamond not only comes with provenance but it even comes with photos of the woman who owned it. I’ll include her story down below.
You absolutely must love warm stones to be the next caretaker. The diamond is a natural GIA 2.76 carat VS1 U-V color but it faces up whiter than its grading which is common for these antique cuts. The color ranges from a light peachy yellow to a light ivory depending on the lighting. Please head to Instagram for tons of videos.
I had the setting custom made by David Klass in his signature 18k antique gold which is a gorgeous warm yellow that will pair beautifully with antique bands. The basket is a crown with 8 claw prongs and the shoulders are set with small OEC diamonds. I made sure it was set low to be very wearable. In excellent condition.

Katherines Story:
A family friend asked if I would take a look at a ring that belonged to his late grandma. It was this stunning 2.76 old European diamond in an 80's/90's setting. I had lunch with him and I wanted to learn as much as I could about his grandma who wasn't his biological grandma. Her name was Katherine Duran, born around the turn of the century and she was his grandfathers nurse (although there's speculation she may have also been his mistress.) Peter and his family came over from Germany when he was 4, shortly after WWIl had ended and they were going to settle with his grandpa in Los Angeles but sadly, grandpa passed away and they didn't find out until they arrived at Ellis Island. They were devastated, didn't know the language and felt they had no choice but to return to a dire situation in Germany. Katherine urged them to come to California because grandpa would have wanted them to and she would help them however she could. She became family to them and his parents even adopted her as a daughter to protect her from a niece that wanted to gain control of her assets. She was affectionately called "Mutti" by Peter meaning mom or mummy. She lived with them as she aged and sadly developed Alzheimer's. When she passed, she left everything to Peter's mom and subsequently Peter.

Most of our pieces are vintage or antique and therefore are not in perfect condition. Please keep this in mind when purchasing. It should be expected that these pieces will have normal wear and tear according to their age. This could include patina, scuffs on the gold, slightly loose but secure stones and light scratches on the stones. We try our best to accurately depict everything through detailed photos and will point out any flaws we feel are noteworthy. Please review the photos carefully and reach out to us with any questions.
